Year Ending!

Yes.. Yes.. It’s been 3 months since we are in 2016 and we all have already been caught up in the daily rut and monotony of life. All those resolutions have almost faded away. Some new fitness trial classes were joined an discontinued. “I will do one new thing everyday” has become last year’s story.

But hey, there is always the ending of “the financial year”. This is that time of the year when all organisations and employees pledge for the #health #wellness and #goodFitness of their companies and their people. Everyone is talking about revenues, numbers, targets, budgets, increments etc.

Let’s try and do more than this… #Motivate all our people to start living a healthier lifestyle. When people live healthier, they stay happy, when they are happy they work better, if your people work better, the organisation grows faster and looks healthier!

A few things that you can bring in to your organisational life ti improve the wellness quotient of your people:

  • Send out motivational emails, quotes, videos to all
  • Have a wellness board in your office where people post their activities
  • Share your wellness tips / activities with colleagues
  • Have a bring a #HealthyMeal to office day
  • Break out of your chairs and do a quick 10 minute workout
  • Organise Friday sessions: Zumba, Yoga, Spa, Aerobics in office
  • Play music in office and much more…

These are just a few things, we can suggest. So, get going and this year end, let’s pledge to live a healthier and happier corporate life! 🙂

Heaven on Earth is a feeling, is an experience, is an emotion… Most if not all of us, experience the feeling of #HeavenOnEarth; it might cause of anything:

  • Graduation
  • First job
  • First salary
  • Family holiday
  • Favourite song
  • Favourite spot in the whole wide world
  • Fitting into your college jeans after 20 years
  • Reaching the top of a peak to see the best view ever

  • Dancing in the rain
  • Playing in a waterfall

  • The first time your child holds your hand
  • Your early morning run

  • Your mother’s good night kiss 🙂

I can list another 100 things like these where every one of us will feel like this is Heaven on Earth. There are a few of us, who love to pamper ourselves and wait for that one Sunday, where we can spend luxurious time with only ourselves, the lovely aroma of lemongrass oils, the high pressure of the knuckles, the relaxing instrumental music, all of this and more that mesmerises us and takes us into a parallel universe. Where there is no chaos, no noise, no movement, just the sweet sound of relaxation.

Yes, we are #SpaLovers! We need that break away from the world and dive into the peace of spa therapies and feel #Zen.

So what is that one thing for you that #FeelsLikeHeavenOnEarth? 🙂

Mind it!

A fit body needs a fit mind! In today’s hectic work, home and play routines it is very easy to lose your mental balance and this can in turn cause various problems like fatigue, stress, aches and pains. To avoid these or rather to keep your mind in a happy state it is important to focus on wellness for the mind.

How do we keep our mind fit? What is mental fatigue? When we are over worked (which most of us are nowadays) the brain sometimes either starts operating like a machine or loses complete focus and wanders around wasting precious time. Here’s how you can keep your mind alive, active and fit:

1. Stay mentally stimulated: Smartphones and internet makes it so easy to pick your favourite game – a sudoku or crossword puzzle or even candy crush, fruit ninja (just to name a few) will help keep your mind active, alive and happy.

2. Social networking. Being social to humans is like breathing. If we don’t get enough, our mental faculties suffer and we start losing our grip on how life should be. So make time for your friends! Call up that family member you haven’t spoken to in forever. When you feel balanced, when you feel like you’re an integral part of a community, everything else falls into place.

3. Sleep Well: A good quality sleep is what most people need to de-stress. Disconnect yourself sooner rather than later, possibly 2 or 3 hours before you go to bed. So get off the computer, stop staring at your cell phone, and hit “off” button on that remote control. Read, take a bath, or just chill with your family or roommates. Live in the moment and get a good night’s sleep.

4. Out of the BOX: To keep your mind kicking, do something you’ve never done before. Go to a city you’ve never been to. Pick up a sport you’ve never played. Get creative if you haven’t seen your artsy side in years. Find a hobby that’s always intrigued you but you’ve never gotten around to and make time for it. You’ll feel productive, you’ll feel like you’ve accomplished something, and, bottom line? You’ll feel good. Just what the doctor ordered. Whether it’s paragliding, taking a cooking class, or stepping into a big city without a map, there will be something you gain from these new experiences. Even if it’s just a crazy story to tell!

5. Where’s your passion? At the end of day, life without passion isn’t a healthy life. Everybody has a dream and even if you can’t make it something you’re able to pursue 24×7, it can be something that has its own little niche in your life. Happiness is an integral part to being happy, and following your passion is a good way to ensure that your happiness is here to stay. If it gives you that warm feeling on the inside, it’s meant to be. Never let your passions fall by the wayside. They’re there to keep your heart and mind happy and healthy.

Keep your Mind fit and HAPPY always! 🙂

1… 2… 3… Sound CHECK!

If you are in India, you are used the noise decibels in the form of weddings, public processions, rallies, festivals etc. Well, it is not only here but world over we all live in chaotic and noisy surroundings with loud teenagers, crying children, fighting ladies on the trains. Chaos and commotion is all around us.

How can you keep your mental well-being calm and composed with the turmoil that runs outside of your window? Let’s run away! Let’s hunt for PEACE!

Minion Loud SpeakerPeace is not a place; it’s a spiritual state of mind. It’s not easy to find it unless you know how. Here are some ideas that you can try out:

  1. MUSIC: Music for some is the answer to all the questions. Plug in your head phones and listen to the tracks that take you to some place nice, quiet and calm.
  2. Meditation: BREATHE in and BREATHE out. Did you know on an every breath basis, we do not breathe fully and completely? If you focus for 2 minutes on your breathing and fill in your lungs with air you will experience a wholesome feeling.
  3. READING: For some reading a book that is so captivating takes them away to a different planet and they cannot hear, see or feel what is going around them
  4. LISTEN: Sometimes, you should just sit back and listen to all the different sounds that are screaming around you. There will be a moment that you will reach where your mind will go passed these sounds and silence will be louder than noise.

Well, the truth is we live on a planet full of noise or a planet filled with singing birds, sound of the waves, the whistling trees, chirping kids; a world full of song and dance. You can’t run away from the chaos forever, so hunt for your peace, find the happy sounds in your lifeLive them, experience them and love them!

Today’s Tomorrow

Anticipation at times can be your best friend or your worst enemy. Depends on what you’re anticipating but whatever it is, it hasn’t happened yet. Its a mystery or something that is unknown to us. We don’t have the capability of changing something in the future because we don’t know whether it even exists. You may hope for a better future and you would definitely do your best to make the present count but for what reason is the past forgotten? The past makes us who were are today. If it weren’t for the past we wouldn’t be able to judge ourselves today.

At times of sorry or depression, people always say forget your past because the more you think about, the more its going to effect you now but how would you whether what you did in the past was wrong or not? Only by looking back at our actions, we would be able to assess how much have we progressed since the past and whether we have really grown or not. The past always is a part of us. Everybody thinks about what they are now or what they want to become in the future but they wouldn’t think about the person who they were and what they can change into.

As the generations and the time carry on, the past is forgotten. A teenage kid in today would definitely prefer electronic music, which is fast and has hard beats over a slow classical song which the parents would mostly indulge in. The influence also increases as a kid would start listening to mature music mostly due to the influence of his parents or sibling but would never start listening to it on his own. This is a common scenario in today’s world. Certain people wish for the past to come back probably because of a better time however some people wish to forget their past completely.

The past can often haunt you and be a major cause for your mental stress. There are various ways of tackling the past, like:

  • Meditation
  • Music
  • Running
  • Painting
  • Reading etc.

So, whether we like it or not, the past is always going to be with us. It isn’t something that is tangible or something that we’ll have access to but it’ll definitely be a part of us in some way or the other. We only need to know how to control it, not let is affect our future, learn from it and create a better tomorrow. After all, Old is gold.

LAUGH it up, LIVE it up!

Seeing gloomy people around is definitely a buzz kill and something we would not want to see at all. You wouldn’t want to see someone with a frown when a jolly environment takes over! We don’t understand the importance of smiling or more important laughing. Laughing can be the solution to all our pains and troubles that we suffer even though we don’t know it! It’s about time we stop relying on so many pills and addictions to get rid of our pains. We’re only in search of a distraction to ease everything out.

In every famous park around the world, there would always be a group of elderly or even middle aged people laughing with all their energy early in the morning. It’s not that they have nothing better to do but their motive is to start the day on a good note! Ultimately every person who laughs ends up being happy in that moment which is something priceless to him or her. Laughing is the main trigger for a positive aura. Not only do we feel good but it makes the people around us feel the same way as well.

We always look at finding the most helpful remedies to all of our problems but little do we realize that the solution can just be to laugh out loud (or LOL) and not care what anyone thinks about it! There are several yet some very obvious reasons as to why you should just get up and start laughing on the bed! Reasons like:

  • Relieves a lot of tension
  • It releases endorphins in your body – a great feeling
  • A good way to bond
  • A form of healing – boosts blood flow and breathing
  • and most importantly It’s a sign of a good and joyful life!

It’s human to laugh at someone’s joke or if someone makes a silly mistake but is it human to burst out laughing in the most random situations with no purpose whatsoever? It should be! Laughing is the most natural thing. It will always end with aching jaws and uncountable smiles but that’s surely the key to a hearty life and like we have heard Laughter is the BEST medicine!

So keep laughing, and have a happy week! 🙂
